Stay vigilant and be safe.
Chatham EMA@ChathamEMA Dorian remains a category 5 hurricane, and the storm’s speed has again slowed. Chatham is in the error cone mid to late this week. Possible impacts to our area include heavy rains, coastal flooding, and strong winds; residents are encouraged to prepare for these potential impacts.
From NOAA
The National Hurricane Center continues to track catastrophic and major Hurricane Dorian. The hurricane is moving very slowly west across the northern Bahamas tonight, then is forecast to turn toward the north and then eventually north-northeast or northeast during midweek. The hurricane could track close to our coastline Wednesday and Thursday. As a result of this scenario, preparations should be made for direct hurricane impacts midweek. However, we urge you to remain flexible as Dorian forecasts could continue to change over the next couple of days.
