Tybee Island is a fun, quirky town known for its beaches and coastal vibe. To get the most out of your visit, check out these top things to do.
Hit the beach. Tybee is a beach town, after all, with five public beaches–three on the ocean side and two on the river.
South Beach, with its Pier and Pavilion, is a popular spot in the heart of the action with occasional concerts and events. Mid Beach is less crowded with parking available only on the street. North Beach is known for the Tybee Lighthouse, Fort Screven, and the jetties.
Tybee’s Back River Beach and Savannah River Beach offer a different experience with more opportunities for dolphin watching and kayaking.
Go outside and play. Enjoy the island life by getting out on the water, whether you prefer boating, fishing, or Kayaking. Paddleboarding, swimming, and surfing are also popular options. Rentals are available through local providers.
When you want to keep your feet on solid ground, McQueen’s Island Trail invites you to hike or bike along an old railroad line.
