In its 45th year, the Savannah Scottish Games are taking place on the beautiful grounds of Historic Bethesda Academy. It is a grand celebration of Scottish heritage, with music, dancing, athletic games, children’s activities, food, and fun for the entire family. The games return on May 6th, 2023. With more than 3,500 people participating in this special event each year, Savannah Scottish Games is one of the Southeast’s largest and fourth oldest Games.

Highland games have been a traditional part of Scotland’s culture for hundreds of years. Their modern-day popularity is owed to the Victorians, when they were formally reintroduced as part of the revival of Tartan and Highland Culture encouraged by Sir Walter Scott.

The roots of Highland games date back to the 11th century when King Malcolm III called a foot race to the summit of Craig Choinnich to find the fastest runner in the land to become his personal courier.

The games then evolved to include events that tested not only muscles and speed of the strongest clan members, but also creative dance and music skills to keep kings, queens, and clan chiefs entertained.

Adult (18 and over) – $20

Student (ages 11 to 17) – $10

Children (10 and under) – Free

Adult (18 and over): $17.50 in advance / $20 day of the Games

Student (11-17): $5.00 in advance / $10.00 day of the Games

Children (10 and under): FREE!

We offer an Active Duty Military/First Responder discount ticket ($15) at the gate on the day of the Games only (not online). If you would like to take advantage of this discount, please do not order an Adult ticket online. Instead, please bring a valid photo ID confirming Active Duty Military/First Responder status to the gate on the day of the Games to get a discount ticket.
